Hi

I am planning to buy a graphic card in Canada and take it back home with me (cards there are much more expensive) and not sure which of these two I should go with
I am planning to build an i7 system when I go back but I haven't decided on the parts yet
so the question is which card is better 4890 or 275

Thanks

I would go for the 4890 my friend, more bang per buck! definately the better card in my opinion too! nvidia are overrated and over expensive, ATI is the way forward, i used to own a couple of Nvidia cards and in recent years i have switched to ATI, was the best decision i ever made! except for swapping from AMD to Intel lol

take care

Go with the XFX 4890.

I did a bunch of research after first starting my own similar post, I wanted a new card and I was deciding between the 4890 and the 275, and the most recommended was the 4890.

Then I researched which 4890 was the best and right now it doesn't really matter which you choose unless you want to OC, the asus has a volt mod thats easy supposedly. I went with the XFX 4890 because the one I picked came with HAWX, the game, for free, and also a double warranty. So far so good, I'm a happy camper. I can run Crysis at 1920x1080 with vsync, 4x AA, and everything as high as it goes and the game is smooth as can be.

I think I saw your other post, the thing that has me worried is that some people report a buzzing sound coming from a few of the ATI cards. In my situation I can't test the cards until I go back home and leave Canada which is too late
I am trying to compare the options now

What games do you primarily play? The two graphics cards are pretty similar, but on certain games one does better then the other.

I think I will go with this card after all, http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130475&Tpk=N82E16814130475
I will be programming using CUDA. At first i thought I might switch to open CL but I will stick with CUDA for now
As for games, the only 2 PC games I have are CSS and fallout 3
