I have motherboard P5Gpl asus 775 socket, and I want to upgrade my PC. will my mobo support dual core processor? now I have Intel celeron 2.8 ghz.

Check the ASUS website for your motherboard model, and then look for the supported CPUs.
That's what we will do anyway so it's better if you start learning how to do it.

Looking at the CPU support list for you mobo Im afraid its bad news. The highest spec chip you will be able to use (if you can find one) is P4 - 672 3.8 ghz, but its still only a single core cpu.

You would be better off buying a P45 mobo and one of the E5200 cpus - this still leaves the chance to upgradce later if you choose to.

The E5200 is a great CPU and overclocks very well too
