I need some recommendations for a psu size for a x2 4200(89 watt)am2, 9800gtx,1 hard drive,1 dvd burner, i recommended earthwatt 500(its in a tiny hp case), but i wanna be sure.

If its going into a tiny HP case, the EA500 won't fit. It has enough power, but it won't physically fit in the case. You'll have to either get a bigger case (as cheap as $30, or well over $300) or find a special PSU that will work. Its probably easiest to just get a new case.

Do you have one of those HP slimline cases that is only about 4.7 inches wide?

Its just a regular mini tower, couldnt tell any difference, but it may be slimmer, i'll check when i go over there, but as long as the psuis enough, im sure he can cough up 40 bucks for a case if need be
