Can you provide some more details on what the issue is? (It won't see the CD / DVD in the drive? It won't open? ... etc.)

Power supply is plugged in correct??

Hi, thanks for your reply.
I installed a new SATA DVD drive and although at first windows 7 sees the drive and can eject the drive slide and also display the inserted disc name if I try to open the dvd directory there is nothing there and then the system hangs. I then need to reset the machine and boot into windpws 7 OS again. But now the system hangs if I have the SATA DVD installed and wont boot. If I use the old IDE DVD without the SATA DVD Drive everything works fine. The Power supply for the SATA DVD is plugged in correctly.

here is system info:

What is your motherboard or PC model #? There are some SATA ports that don't support SATA DVD drives, which could be your issue.
