Do fan grills work?

Hello,

I know the question sounds funny, but do fan grills actually make fans work "better"? I know there's the part where they stop dust (as well as pets and itchy fingers) but do they actually make that much of a difference in helping airflow as well? They seem cheap and I was just hoping they wouldn't be a waste of money.

The purpose of the grill is as you already knew,
to keep bodyparts attached to the owners body.....

no effect on airflow if you were still wondering

argh I need to stop believing the part where they advertise it as something like "provides focussed airflow" etc

If anything I'd say grills could be a bad effect on flow as its impeding the flow through the fan, but its so minimal its not really worth considering

Only if the fan has thin metal blades. In the case of plastic blades, my money's on the finger.

The main thing I get out of fan grills is that you don't knock your hand or fingers on them which can be very helpful sometimes
