  1. Have you retested it to verify??

    I haven't seen a mechanical over 5.9 myself... Even my WD 300GB VRaptor didn't score over 5.9.
  2. Its a glitch with WEI.

WEI is supposed to have a limit of 5.9 for HDD's, as a way of making sure they do not out score SSDs. but the only thing this shows is WEI is useless. Take no notice of it. Its the single most useless benchmark you could possibly run.
  3. I haven't seen anything over 5.9 for regular hd either. I agree with Welshmousepk it is worthless.
  4. Yup, useless benchmark.... I have WD Blue, Black, and Raptors..... ALL run "5.9" .... but in real-life and games the Raptors RULE........
  5. ^+1...

If you want a true benchmark of the hard drive performance download programs like ATTO, HDTune or CrystalDiskMark
  6. Definately a worthless benchmark - when I got my new system with 1 7200 rpm SATA 3.0 drive it scored 5.9 on the WEI. I upgraded to two of those drives configured as raid 0 and the WEI stayed at 5.9.

I had also run passmark benchmarks, re-ran those and verified that the raid 0 was running at twice the speed of the single drive as expected. So doubling the speed of the boot drive did not change the WEI of 5.9

Totally agree, just got my VRaptor 600gb version myself and it runs smooth as silk!
