Hello, I just built my new system and was curious why the primary hard disk rating in Windows Experience Index was 7.3. Here are the specs:

Mobo: Gigabyte X58A-UD3R
CPU: Intel Core i7-950
Mem: G.SKILL DDR3-1333 PC3-10666 Tri-Channel 12gb
HDD: 2 x Crucial 64GB 2.5" SSD C300 SATA 6Gb/s
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 460 1GB
PSU: Corsair TX850
OS: Windows 7 Pro 64bit

I have the Crucial SSD's running in RAID0 on the mobo's SATA3 ports. I kinda figured if anything, that would not be the lowest score.

Here are my scores:

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 950 @ 3.07GHz: 7.5
Memory (RAM) 12.0 GB: 7.5
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460: 7.6
Gaming graphics 4095 MB Total available graphics memory: 7.6
Primary hard disk 74GB Free (119GB Total): 7.3

I would not put in faith in WEI rating!! In this thread a hard drive scored a 7.3 and it is widely know that mechanical hard drives don' score above 5.9... http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/266967-32-high-hard-d...

If you want to truly test your performance, I would run ATTO, HDTune, CrystalDiskMark or AS SSD Benchmark, which all are hard drive performance testing programs.
