Can you check and make sure this build works? Most of these are on sale today, but I was wondering if you thought I might get a better deal around July 4. I'm trying to keep the price under $800.

Don't worry about the questions lol - all is good.

1. Case and psu:

here's the Antec 300 with 430W psu included:

2. Cooler Talk

- If you go Intel on a budget and do NOT overclock, you do not need an aftermarket cooler. Put the money into more cpu or gpu.

- If you go Intel and decide to install the ACF7, you do NOT need thermal paste. The heatsink is pre-pasted.

- If you go Intel and DO overclock, the OCZ Vendetta 2 will perform better

- If you go AMD, I don't know what you need.

3. Look for combos. That Antec case was recently paired with an E7500 for $15 or $20 off on the pair.

Thanks again.
I was going to try to overclock it a little, perhaps to around 3.4, or whatever seems stable.
Would you recommend the amd over the e7400, especially with the core i5 coming out sometime?

If you are going the AMD route, then spend extra $20 and get the X3 720...It has an unlocked multiplier and would certainly overclock better and easily than the X3 710...
And get a faster RAM with heatsink

And Yes AMD X3 is recommended over the E7400 even though the i5 is coming out sometime because the i5 totally has a different socket and if you were planning to pop in an i5(LGA 1156) in a LGA 775 socket, too bad you cant...
