Updating firmware on Crucial SSD

I am having issues updating my Crucial SSD firmware from 1 to 6. I know I have to go to 2 first, and then go to 6, however it keeps saying that it cannot find the drive when I run the cd. When I switch from AHCI to IDE, I get an error before windows boots. Its a black screen with that just says EB_ in the right hand corner. Not sure what my next options are but I want to get it updated. My other board is an intel DX58S02.

Did you remember to adjust your boot priority to your CD and boot from the CD and load the update from CD, per the instructions?? http://www.crucial.com/firmware/0002/ProductFlyer-letter_C300_Firmware_5-10.pdf

Since you switched from AHCI to IDE, your Windows won't boot so don't worry about that

Unfortunately it would not get out of the bios. I switched the drive to my dell and updated without issue.
