Ok so i currently have a
dead xfx680i/q6600
new corsair hx750 psu
new CM 690 case
9800gtx
ddr2 800 ram
ultima 90 hsf
500gh sata HDD
sata cd burner
Ok me dilemma is replacing a xfx680i/q6600.
Im on a tight budget of about 400$ (maybe $500)
right now im thinking buy a new core 2 quad and a 775 board to replace it (200$-300$) so that i can reuse my ram and hsf and save some money.
I dont want to do that bc the 775 size is a dyng size.
I want to step up to a core i5 but there is no bolt thru for the ultima 90 775 to the 1156.
Im sure i could afford a core i5 but i will then have to buy a new HSF and i love my ultima 90.
its for light gaming. (play new games no larger than 1080) and light overclock.
What should i do?
1.Replace with 775 (board/cpu)?
2.buy 1156 (board/cpu/hsf/ram)?
3.Is there a possible 1136 (boad/cpu/ram/1366 bolt thru) that i can get for under 500$?
Anything will be helpful.
PS i will try to fix xfx680i but i want need something within a week and if i can ill fix the xfx680i and use it as a back up. So please dont say fix xfx680i .
