Hi I just have a couple of questions...

I´m planning to buy another gtx 280 for my rig as I already own one of them and for $240 they are still an awesome deal...

The thing is my Motherboard has 3 pci express slots. They are running at 16x 16x 4x, so both my 280´s would use the x16

slots in SLI, that leaves me with one x4 pci express slot unused. I´m planning to use it for physics.

Would the x4 slot bottleneck the physics card? The physics card is a 8800gts 512mb (g92).

Thanks in advance guys...

I think...BFG PhysX card works on PCI slot...

meaning?
also could u give a link to that physics card?

i have a x4 pci E slot would it bottleneck the 8800gts?

No, if only used for physx, it wouldn't bottleneck it. I've tested a 9600gso in a pcie 1x slot using it for just physx and it didn't seem to bottleneck it.

awesome that was the answer i was looking for thanks :)
but, a 9600gso is considerably weeker than a 8800gts and so, it is harder to bottleneck, but the interface slot used is bigger with my 8800gts (PCIE x4)...

so whats the conclusion after knowing that...
bottlenecks or no?

It won't bottleneck..

hey how dumb of me i forgot one very important aspect...

i dont know if my power supply would boot all that hardware...

My power supply is a PC P&C 750W silencer with 60A on the 12v rail...

I would be running the 2 gtx 280´s, the 8800gts for physics and an i7 920...

I know my power supply is pretty strong and capable but this is a lot...

What do u guys think?

thats bugged it tells me i need a 1000w PSU with my setup which im running perfectly with my silencer and I know it´s not close to max potential....

With 3 of the best GPU's.... can expect something near to that.. he..he..

i think ill just stay with the sli 280´s which i think are enough to render and do the physics...
