Will those smoke machines/generators that uses water and creates a fine mist like the ones used at rave parties and events damage computer hardware?
My problem is that I am a DJ and I use these machines quite often in close proximity of my laptop and computer case. The case is a Antec 900. I'm worried that it may take in an excess amount of moisture from the mist and damage the electrical sensitive hardware inside it.
And sorry if this is not the right forum to post it in, I'm quite new around here.
Are you worried about them harming your audio gear? I can't see any reason why one would be any more susceptible than the other. A computer would probably draw more air (and mist) through it than an amp due to the fans, but it's a difference of degree, not of kind.

I'm not so worried about my audio gear such as speakers or the decks since they aren't so prone to static or surges, like the speakers is pretty much a few wires and a magnet.
I'm more concerned for the circuits such as the motherboard or hard drive since they are very delicate components to my understanding.
Well I'm not an expert, but I'd expect your amps to have the same sorts of vulnerabilities as a computer might. The voltages are similar - in fact the voltages used by the CPU itself are very low.
I guess the biggest issue is whether you might get enough moisture on the components to cause a short, but it doesn't seem all that likely to me because it will be warm inside the case and that will tend to prevent much moisture from accumulating.
But I defer to anyone who has more practical experience with this stuff than I do...
