I am wanting to upgrade my graphics card but i have no idea if it will fit my 16x slot contacting gateway has been next to useless so i thought i would try here. I have a gateway fx530 which uses the now dead btx case/motherboard.

Welcome to the forums!

It will not fit IMHO. You need a shorter card.

Dimensions: 260x100x33 mm (the last figure is the maximum thickness)

Make sure your power supply supports the card you want.
You can check back here on that.

Try a 4670 or 9600gt Low power
