I just found a new (never been used) Soyo P4I875P that takes an Intel 478 and in looking up the prices, I seem to have discovered that 478 is also available with duo core and I'm wondering if this five year old board will benefit from it.[email]gsellars@gmail.com [/email]

nope. the 478 pin socket only held intels P4's.

Well after (trying to) look them up i see there not around anymore. So yea.... something isn't right.

Thanks so much for the quick response.

Now... if you know, can you recommend the best bang_for_the_buck processor for the board? It seems like the P4s are really cheap now, so I would think the the top of the line would be the best, but that many not necessarily be the case.

I'm on an extremely low budget... like under $100 for cpu, heatsink and fan... and video card if possible. I'm not a gamer but do watch movies on my computer.
