Hey Everyone,

So here is my dilemma: I've been having audio issues with my motherboard (Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe) for quite a while now. I've tried all of the SoundMax drivers I could find for my chipset (ADI1988) and they all give me extremely scratchy/poppy sounding audio through my speakers/headphones. The only up-side to these drivers is that my mic works with them.

When I un-install and remove the Soundmax drivers and let Vista 32-bit install it's own High Definition Audio Device driver the audio becomes clear and noise-free but my mic stops working.

Any ideas? Anyone else having this issue?

Bad sound is usually an indicator that you're using the wrong drivers. How are you sure that what you downloaded is for your hardware? Did you download the drivers from the Asus support website?
