Just finished building a pc for my friend and installed win 7 ultimate and for some reason he didnt have the thumbnail previews on the taskbar which as I understand it is part of the aero package that is only turned off if your computer blows. Hes running 8gb memory, gtx 570 and an asus mobo so he should have no problem. Followed the instructions found here

http://www.blogsdna.com/2056/how-to-enable-or-disable-taskbar-thumbnails-preview-in-windows-7.htm

WHen he typed gpedit.msc into run he got a blue screen with memory management...

He restarted and tried once more and recieved this error

"Failed to open the group policy object on this computer, you may not have appropriate rights"

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

gtx570

corsair 750 watt psu

i5 2500k

ASUS p8p67 mobo

Think the memory is bad? Was thinking about running memtest tomorrow if the situation isnt resolved...
