its a limited edition gtx 295 2gb crossfired with another one, much like a vw phaeton 6 litre w12.

Um, no it isn't... That would be four GPU's on the same card.. not for a few years son.

The MARS is effectively 2 gtx285's on one board instead of the under clocked 275's on the stock 295.

Also, nvidia has SLI, ati has crossfire.

Whats the need of that much memory........... It surely help in maxing out everything...even the PhysX at max. ... even cards with 1GB could do that task... then why spend money for it...

You moron, you cannot have more than 3x GTX285(4x GTX285 = nonsense).

The Asus GeForce GTX 295 Mars is 23% faster than the standard GTX295.

Now go play Tetris with your pathetic HD 4870 :D :D :D :D

I hope you are joking, because validating successful_troll like that is gonna make him double in power and annoyance. Just like feeding him after midnight.

Beyond that, I'm sure you are joking as no one would admit to actually wanting to buy one of those in a serious point..

hell, if I hit the lottery, I'd buy 2 of them. Then it'd be no biggie to blow 35 hundred tho. With a real job, no way 275 for me.

About me looking at putting 2 of these in my system. No it was not a joke just can not find a place that has them and not preorder. I currently have 3 xfx gtx 285 black editions in my computer and want more and 2 mars would do it. Crysis is still not fast enough for me.

/facepalm ...... your money

Since we are all having so much fun with these overpriced things.. I reserve the right to refer to you as a spoiled rich ****wit for the rest of time if you actually purchase them.

I wouldn't even use em if I got them for free. Obviously the logical thing to do would be to sell them and but a triple SLI/Crossfire liquid cooled beast of a machine and overclock it till my eyes bleed.

I will spare the logical critique of your person and or soul as I'm still pretty sure we are all joking.

yeaah, 23% faster and 320% more expensive!
As I couldnt find any benches of 3xGTX285 (clocked to ~700Mhz) to compare with 2xGTX295 mars ed. I'm pretty sure that the difference will not be more than few procents, as we know that 4 GPUs are not scaling that good as 3 GPUs do.
So 3x superclocked GTX285 will cost you ~£800, still £200 less than single AsusGTX295 and will be alot more faster.
I realy want to see some benches of superclocked 3x GTX285 compared to 2x Asus GTX295 (leave 3D mark alone, as we do NOT play on 3D mark. )

as for my 4870, I can play tetris with it, because it is cheap as brick. And a year after I bought it, it still maxing out my games and keeps me happy :bounce:

Yes I could build another system similar to what I have now for the same price and in all reality I probably would not go that route. But I am looking at wc setups for my current system. That will probably be around 1k to support all the hardware. I want to get over 4 stable with my i7.

2x GTX295(the generic GTX295 NOT Asus Mars) are faster than the 3xGTX285 in crysis at list. Now imagine the difference with the 2x Asus GTX295 Mars against the 3xGTX285.

Think before you post next time.

2x GTX295 are 17% faster than the 3xGTX280 in crysis(GTX285 are 7% faster than the GTX280) so still the 2x GTX295 are faster than the 3xGTX285.

all I see is ref. GTX295 SLI is 17% faster than 3-way SLI reference GTX280 ONLY on 1680x1050 !!! Basicly 4 GPUs is 17% faster than 3 GPUs on 1680x1050 !!! And ref.GTX295 is 47% slower than 3-way SLI reference GTX280 on 2560x1600 which you sould play if you spend $3500+ for graphic cards ! Now imagine GTX295 Mars is 23% faster than ref.GTX295 - you still get behind 3-way SLI GTX280s (on 2560x1600) ! and ref. GTX280 is much slower than superclocked GTX285 !!!
Now imagine 3-way SLI superclocked GTX285 is faster than 3-way SLI ref.GTX280

And yes, you have to be moron to spend $3500+(mars GTX295 SLI) on graphics setup that is ±10% difference than $1400(3x OC GTX285) setup :pfff:

You moron this benchmarks are with the first drivers 181.20 that didn’t support very well quadsli with the 182 and letter the 2x GTX295 get 48fps in 2560x1600 and the 3xGTX285 get 42fps.

Also the GTX295 OC very well from 576MHz you can hit easily 670 MHz on air.

Reply to successful_troll

The funny apart about this is that in a year or a year and a half at the latest there will be a single graphics card that destroys the "Mars" for cheap.

Oh and we all realize that the Successful_Troll doesn't own even one of these and doesn't have any idea about the performance of any of these cards. The truth is the "Mars" doesn't perform like it should because of drivers, they treat the card like a GTX 295 meaning the 1024 bit bandwidth is useless. Also 3 GTX 285s are far more powerful than 2 GTX 295s and they overclock far better. The "Mars" is a highly overclocked GTX 295, nothing more.

Hell I bet my system would out perform 2 of those considering I'm running actual drivers that are actually produced for my cards. If anyone actually bought 2 of these then they are well past retarded as the only reason I upgraded from 2 4870 X2s was because it didn't cost me anything after selling my old cards, but even then I know for a fact that I got NO NOTICEABLE performance difference, you can't make a maxed game at 60 FPS look any better at 80 FPS.

I have never seen one do that and yes I've read 3-4 reviews that claim that the GTX 295 is a good overclocker but from experience it is not. Also my GTX 285 clocks to 790 Mhz on air and 830 Mhz on water. Also the memory does much better, but I have found the memory overclocks to be very scattered with the GTX 285.

Stock vs stock 3 GTX 285s > 2 GTX 295s and the GTX 285s overclock FAR better.

I've seen lots of people achieving such clocks(core clock 685MHz+) on a gtx 295 and its not my fault that your friend fails at overclocking.

As I said before 2x GTX295 are faster than 3x GTX285 in crysis.
