Hi all,

I recently built myself a new system. Thing runs beautifully except for an annoying little problem i have yet to figure out. Was hoping the community might have an idea.

So here it is.

Audio works great on the system, however if i enter a program that utilizes the whole screen and then alt-tab or return to the desk top to work with a third party program, change song etc, the sound in game will be lost.

Also has a similar issue with ventrillo and other voice programs.

Any idea, i even tried switching out the on board sound for an external sounds card still no luck.

System is:

ASUS P5Q PRO

4gb Ram

x2 Sapphire 4850

Intel E8400

External sound car Sound Blaster Audigy NX

Thanks!

P.S weirdest thing, this problem only started up moving from an old ass CRT to a 24" LCD.

Sounds like a software problem to me. A fresh windows install might fix it.

Try uninstalling all the drivers, and a registry cleaning. Make sure onboard sound is turned off in the BIOS before installing any other sound device.
