I just replaced a psu and when I started the pc i heard a popping noise then a jingling like something was rubbing against a fan. When i opened the pc I noticed the cpu fan wire had got caught on the psu cooling fan.I switched back to the old psu but still have this problem.....The pc fans will start and the power button works but shows no power light and the pc will not start.Total black screen.I can shut the pc using the power button but it will not light and my dvd also runs so the psu must be good?did I short out the mobo?Do I need to reset the cmos.I'd like to try to trouble shoot before I buy a new mobo

first see if any of the wires have cuts on them. if so, replace any fan that has damaged wires, cause they can cause short-circuit and damage other components.
try to reset the cmos and see if that helps.
