The backup function in XP says to use a floppy for a recovery disk but my computer doesn't have a built in floppy. I do have a USB floppy and I'm wondering if it will work if I need to restore my HDD and I'm also wondering if a USB thumb drive wouldn't work just as well.

Well, I guess I'm breaking new ground here. I did manage to make a backup using my USB floppy but that's not the real issue. I hope the OS will recognize the floppy attached to a USB port when it comes time to ASR. I'm still hoping someone has already done this and will post results here.
