Keyboard cord fell out; reconnected, but still doesnt work

Hello, My son's keyboard cord fell out, so I reconnected it & rebooted, but the keyboard still doesn't work.. I'm using Windows XP, logged on as "Guest" [without administrative privileges so I can't restore, etc.] & he's not home. I'm using the "on-screen keyboard."

KB's are cheap - get another one would be my suggestion.
