hi, i had this problem a while ago
http://www.maxishine.com.au/forums/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=7876
my pc didnt turn on because of a short so i replaced my power supply . i installed it today and it still doesnt turn on .
is this a motherboard related issue, should i rma my mobo? there was no bad smell or any indication of damage anywhere.
i tried clearing a cmos but it doesnt help, maybe i should remove my mobo out of the case and try it again? maybe the power switch is broken? also there is a green small led next to the mobos power and reset connections and it lights up when the psu is plugged in.
please help me

Hi,

What motherboard / pc was it.

Is it a homebuild or a e-machines

some powersupplies - ie ones in emachines and some in fujistu blow the powersupply and the motherboard when one or the other goes.

when asking questions it always helps what other kit you have down to the fact that there might be known issues with certain products.

Cheers.

4-pin molex was shorted out 2! times, and pc doesnt turn on after the second
the pc is custom built:
asus p5n-e sli
q6600
4gb ram
8800gt
psu is chieftec 650w
i checked all the connectors and they are all properly installed
