I have recently purchased an Intel 2500k and MSI P67A-G43 board.

I would love to overclock this CPU, especially since I just purchased the Cooler Master Hyper 212 fan/heatsink, but I have literally no knowledge of how to do it. I have been reading some guides and such online and from Tom's, but it all seems so confusing.

Does anyone have a simple explanation, especially for this board, of what I need to watch out for and worry about in my BIOS? I tried just changing the clock speed up a bit (3.75 GHz) but my computer wouldn't boot, so I need some help to understand what to do and what to watch out for.

Thanks!

Win7 64bit
Intel Core i5-2500k
MSI P67A-G43
Radeon HD 6890
G.Skill Ripjaw X 4GB RAM

You can try Oc that to 4.2ghz:

1. First change the multiplier to 42
2. Cpu Vcore 1.25
3. C1E Support enable so that it will throttle down it's speed and will not remain to 4.2ghz all the time
4. Internal PLL Overvoltage enable

Save and boot up and run in on Prime95 to stress test and stability also keep the cpu temp below 75c
