Gigabyte P45 MB approx $150 (every kind of audio output is there)
2 x 2GB RAM kit approx $70
Intel Pentium Dual Core 2.5G (easily OC to 3.6G) approx $90
Zalman FC-77 CPU fan, it's big and loud but very good air cooling approx $40, not sure with other MB, but Gigabyte MB has voltage cpu fan control, so you don't need Zalman fan mate if you can't stand the noise, cos there is quite a bit of it)
Blu-ray drive since you got money left over approx $150

Thanks for the tips.

That leaves a bit left over, if there's anything that are upgrades over what you recommend, I'd be happy to know, I'm willing to spend up to $1200, but would prefer the $1000 mark.

Hmm...Here is config that you can look into...

Mobo - Asus M4A78T-E - 212 AUD
CASE - CM 690 - 155 AUD
CPU - x4 Phenom II 955 - 325 AUD
RAM - 4G Kit(2x2G) DDR3 1333 G.Skill NQ - 88 AUD
CPU Cooler - CM Hyper212 - 50 AUD
Any DVD Drive...

Total - $826
And if you can my suggestion would be even to get a better power supply as that eXtreme PSUs are not efficient...
Antec EarthWatts 500W - 129 AUD
or
Seasonic PSR550+ - 125 AUD

You are better off buying from Umart.com.au That is where i get all my PC stuff from. Most people recommend it.

Your resolution makes the 4890 an overkill. To really enjoy all what the 4890 can do, consider a 22" monitor or larger.

Any recommendations on a 22" monitor?

Thanks for the tips gkay09, appreciate it, I might put a list of things I'm looking at and edit my initial post :)
