A 9600GT would be better choice..and HD4670 would be better price/performance choice at that range... About 9600GSO, i think XFX card would be better..

Must you get the GSO? I'm sure we can make different suggestions at the price range... and yeah, just get the XFX one, if you must.

However, do tell us if you change your mind and are open to new suggestions at price point...

I know you want to be big and bad and use sli in the future but look at it this way...amd rapes low cost. A single 4850 wipes the floor with a 9800gt.

And they can be had for 99.99 right now.

You just missed a killer deal on a HIS for 104.99 this weekend. Now out of stock.

But really, why limit yourself? Go for a powerful single card solution like a 4850, or make the small step to a 4870 for 130.

Assuming your 19" is 1400x900 a 4850 would rock :D

At that price range you could get GTS 250(previously 9800GTX+).. and do SLi if you have money for another.... You should go for nVidia if you have such a good motherboard..

How did it turn into a discussion about upper-range cards and SLI? He wanted a 9600 GSO. We suggest better things at THAT price point and alternatives maybe a few dollars above that; let's stop at the 4830/4850/GTS 250 men.

We still need feedback from our poster anyway.

So you don't want to spend more than 100 on a gpu but you'd consider waiting a few months to spend potentially hundreds on a new os & gpu...interesting.
