PCIe 2.0 x16 vs PCIe 2.0

This is a difference between the old 9600gt and the new 9600gt

here, the new 9600gt Minimum System Power Requirement is 300W whereas the old 9600 power requirement is 400W.
I have 350W smps so i want to purchase the new 9600gt but the problem is the new 9600gt supports "pci-e 2.0" slot & the old one supports "pci-e 2.0 x16" .
I have "pci-e 2.0x16" on my motherboard... but i want to purchase the new 9600gt because of my 350w smps.... will pci-e 2.0x16 support the new "pci-2.0" graphic cards ?

same thing?? r u sure?? will the new "pci 2.0" cards support my motherboard without any problems???
