There's excellent deals on the HD4850 right now and 2 of them in crossfire can give you better performance than any (single gpu)card on the market. There's been some nice deals of HD4870s as well if you have the money and want something that will kick any games ass for a long while. Basically it depends on your price range;
2 HD4850s = about $200
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=E...

2 HD4870s = about $250
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=E...

2 HD4870 1gigs = about $300
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=E...

2 HD4890s = about $400
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=E...

And of course you need to make sure your PSU has the power to deal with what you choose to buy.
