Recently I was given an HP L2045W widescreen monitor. But when I power it on the screen and display turn on for about 2 seconds then the display sizzles out and the monitor stays powered. I have tried multiple AC adapters and outlets, multiple VGA and DVI cables. several computers each with different OS'S (XP, Vista ultimate 64, Vista home premium, XP MCE, UBUNTU, and 98 SE.) all to which give the same result. The main rig I am trying to get this to work on is a XfX 8200 Mobo, AMD athlon 64x2 4600 2gigs of OCZ PC6400, and a XFX 8600 GTXXX graphics card.

I was previously running a 42" Sony Bravia plasma off the HDMI port on MOBO

Any advice on what I should try?

Looks like you have tried everything. IMO the monitor is dead.

Ona side note.... Does the monitor let you change any setting in the Menu?

when it stays on long enough It allows full access to the OSD menu. I got it on for about one minute and tested different resolutions and settings still nothing. Although from reading the HP website apparently the monitor has an automatic power adjustment device so it changes its input range automatically, im thinking that maybe theres an issue there.

Edited for spelling and grammar errors.

I would call HP tech support and have them help you. You should get a strait answer from them. They should be able to tell what is the problem....
