Hello,
i hv an ide mobo and i wanted to connect a sata hd on it. So i boght an pci i/o controller, installed it also installed its driver from cd it came. rebooted the syst. asked to press f4 to set raid utility which lead to 4 options 1 of which is to create raid. however, when i do so it prompts " not enough single drives to set raid"
any help is greatly appreciated

Don't press F4.

Seriously, if that prompt is coming up in the BIOS part of the boot, and the boot sequence will continue without pressing F4, just don't.

I've got an Ultra320 SCSI controller that prompts to press Ctl-A for setup, and I ignore it.

Depending on your OS and the controller, you may or may not need to install drivers for it. What are your OS, motherboard, and SATA controller?
