Connecting laptop sata drive to desktop motherboard

Hello, i looked at wd website and waited 40mins on support by phone.All i want to do is buy a wd scorpio 250 and connect it in my pc (cannot afford a Velociraptor) - Will regular sata cables in the pc work? or do i need to get an adapter?

The connectors are the same, so regular sata cables will work fine, but depending on your case, you mean need a special bracket to mount it.
