I want to overclock my i7 2600k from 3.40Ghz to 4.5Ghz. Currently its running on the stock heatsink which i presume is not effective enough to dissipate the amount of heat which would be produced under heavy load. I have done some research on the existing heatsinks out there but i'm still confused as to what would be very effective. I am only interested in fan cooling, and have a budget of £50 max. The motherboard is an Asus P8P67 Deluxe socket 1155, any suggestions on what would be my best bet? The PC is also used for gaming.. obviously a heatsink which is effective, relatively cheap and very quiet are my main requirements.

I say go for the Cooler Master Hyper 212+, its cheap around 30USD(I think that is around £20) or less and its effective.

Got my 2500k @ 4.4ghz with max temps of 63C.

Are there better coolers out there? Yes. Is it worth it to you to pay double the price or more for 2-3 deg C? Thats for you to decide. Cooler Mastery Hyper 212+ all the way imo.
