I am finally going to get my sandy bridge setup, and I decided to go with nvidia and intel, since I chose amd and ati for my current build.

I have been looking at the Asus GTX 480 and 570 as possible choices for a gpu. The 480 is cheaper but it seems to have a higher power consumption and is a lot more hotter, I think by 20 degrees at max load.

That $50 extra to get a 570 will give me better heat and power consumption, and slightly faster power. Depending on which site, sometimes the 480 beats the 570, but the heat issue isn't exactly worth saving 50$

Pretty much I am shooting for a 2500k and a Haf X, and still debating mobo and gpu. I have everything else, since I built this current machine back in Oct.

I always thought I would get an evga if I ever went nvidia, but I always liked Asus products even though I went the gigabyte route on board and gpu last time.

Anyways I just don't know what exactly I should get for a mobo and gpu. I am trying to not to be to cheap, I was looking to spend $300 on a gpu and $200 on a mobo, but $350 and $250 can probably be attained if I wait a while longer.

Hi.

You can go with a P8P67 Pro for SLI, for GPU the GTX 480 isn't a good option now while the GTX 570 is better but also produce much heat. Why not go with two GTX 560 Ti? those are good options for the price, low power use and low production heat and beat the GTX 570 and GTX 580.

I second that, however, he only wants to spend 300 or less for a GPU, ASUS P8P67 Is an excellent Mobo, you will not regret it.

If you look at my system specs, I am running 2 GTX560Ti's SuperClocked with a 750watt PSU.

If you can spend 500 on GPUs, you can't go wrong with 2 GTX560Ti in SLI, they outperform a single gtx580

Here's the hierarchy chart:

If you want on par or better performance than the gtx560Ti, go for the 6950s or 6970s
