Very soon I will be buying or building myself a new PC. The HP Z600 series workstations are the type of look that I like and the case features are outstanding. The problem with the Z600 is the price due to the use of Xeon processors and workstation class graphics etc.
Does anyone have any recommendations for similar cases I could use for a self build, or another manufacturer with a complete machine in a similar style but using Core i5/7 class components?
I took a look at the specifications. The case is advertised as mini-tower which could also be used as a rackmount case of the type used by commercial enterprises. Do you want to use a similar case as a stand alone tower or do you want to mount it in a rack?
You also mentioned using Core i5/7 components. Which size motherboard do you want to use? standard atx or micro-atx?
Its the modular and screwless design of the inside as well as the understated look of the outside that draw me to the Z600. The rackmounted options don't interest me, so standalone tower.
I think a full sized ATX will do the job. For the right case I'd switch to uATX, but I suspect the type of case I'm after will be full sized ATX anyway.
Going from a mini-tower to a full tower case? That's a big change.
Lancool is a subsidiary of Lian Li. Lian Li is famous for their aluminum cases and innovative features. Last month I discovered Lancool's new Dragon Lord series of cases which have quite a few Lian Li features. Here's a link to a web page showing all of the Dragon Lord models:
