I was using my Dell Studio 540 and I accidentally unplugged my PSU, so I plugged it back and tried to boot it. Now when it boots up, the PSU fan spins loudly. What is happening? Did I damage anything?

Disconnecting the PSU by accident shouldn't damage it. Power off the PSU for 30 seconds. Then try it again. If the fan still runs at full speed and the system is under warranty, then contact Dell support.
