RAM upgrade question

i wanted to upgrade my desktop a bit by installing some more RAM
(there is now 2 gb installed)

intell q6600
asus p58mx (manual)
8600gt silent

i was wondering (since i couldn't find it in the FAQ) if this would work.

A-DATA Dimm 4GB DDR2 800 Dual Channel Kit

4GB Dual Channel Kit (2 x 2GB) 800 - 6400MB/Sec (PC2-6400)
Cas Latency Timing: 4-4-4-12

i can get it for 50 bucks

if any more info is needed please tell me :)
thanks in advance!

  1. Yes, the memory that you want can works without problems. If the memory isn't in the FAQ, don't mean that isn't supported.
  2. A link to that kit would have been helpful. If they reach those timings at 2.0V or less, then go for it. Just don't try to mix them with your current memory modules. I presume that you read the last bullet on page 2-13.
  3. i couldn't find the part that said that you can put 800 memory in a 667 motherboard.
    link to store

    thanks a lot!
