I've got a brand new build that i just finished. While I've built many computers over my lifetime - I've never gotten into raid before.

My new system is a p67a-gd65 msi board with a 2600k sandy bridge chip.

System is working fine. I hooked up only one HD (65G Crucial SSD) in SATA 0 and installed windows 7.
After install I put a 1g HD on sata 6 - again all is normal.

After getting my system to this level, I decided it was time to install the raid.
I installed matching HD's to sata 2 and sata 3. Connected all cables and rebooted.

Entered raid setup for the intel raid controller and configured these two drives as a raid1 volume. Rebooted the system, windows begins to load and then blue screens and reboots computer.

I remove the raid and all is well.

Anyone have any hints

FIgured this out myself, thought I"d leave a note here for any ppl with a similar issue.

I installed windows with my sata controllers set to ide vs achi.

Used the MS hotfix, it automatically installed the achi drivers and I did not have to re-install windows.

Raid is working correctly now
