I left my PC running while on the telephone and turned back to see that PC had shut down. I then tried to start the PC up again by pressing the power button on the front. Nothing. I thought maybe my kettle cable had blown a fuse so swapped it with another one. Tried to start the PC which worked this time, but only for a few seconds before black smoke started coming out of the PC!
On further inspection I have realised my GFX card has blown.
It should look like this! :<
I have sniffed around in the case and smelt the PSU and nothing smells of burnt components. I have taken the fan off the cpu and checked that it looks okay. I can't see any bulging capacitors on mobo either.
Is it possible any other components of the PC are damaged?
I have a second GFX card exactly the same as the blown one but I am afraid to plug it into the PC incase something else is damaged and causes the other GFX card to blow and / or burns out some other parts of the PC.
