What's even worse is that those noobz don't realize that even if DX11 is coming out with Win7 they won't see any DX11 games for at least a year after it's out. Even now we still see a lot of DX9 games still coming to market.

Well, actually there are a couple games coming out by christmas with dx11 features.. I can't guarantee you will want to play any of them though.. but they are coming.

I would imagine so, as they will work on the console as well (at least Dirt 2 will).
What difference does that make though? If a developer wants to spend extra time adding high end features for dx11 while maintaining functionality in xp what is wrong with that? There is nothing in DX11 that will fundamentally change gameplay(at least nothing that is being worked on yet, thus nothing we will see for ages) that will have to left out of any game that is backwards compatible. Adding compatability just means longer time in development.
Actualy DIRT 2 will be the first game to use DX 11... although it's writen in DX10, it will support most dx11 features including shaders 5.0... It will be released at the same time with win 7 and ATI 5XXX series, or even before. Codemasters is kicking serius ass right now, this game will leave crytek crap to shame.

Yes, wea ll already know/have mentioned Dirt 2.
It is a driving sim.. not exactly competing with crysis. Besides that, it isn't PC exclusive...
It is being writen for dx9 and dx10. It is designed to work on the consoles, the dx10.1 features of the PC version are being redone/ported to dx11 because the devs think the benefits of dx11 are worth the delay in the PC version.
I'm thinking...the only game really worth playing this year and next will be Dragons Age : Origins. It was originally planned for April release this year it was put back until October 23rd a few months ago. Oct 23rd is remarkably close to another big release date.
Bioware + a brand spanking new dx11 uber-title on the release of windows 7 could be the sort of thing that redefines pc gaming. That's my big hope anyway.
I think some of you need to find out that all the DX11 games coming out this year which are also coming out for consoles are Rebuilds of the game, not ports.

And exactly how are you defining port that it is different from a rebuild?
I suppose if you only consider a port changing the control scheme for the new system and getting rid of some of the high/low settings without changing any of the code.. sure. However, the dx11 games coming out by the end of the year were all going to be dx10.1, instead they have chosen to do those features in dx11 which is evidently easy to change over to.
How is taking the game from dx9 to dx11 any different in principle to taking it from dx9 to dx10.1? Things have to be "redone" anyway. Far as I'm concerned it is still a port so long as the gameplay is fundamentally identical (which it is in 99% of cases, just looks/handles slightly differently) regardless of how many features they have to"redo" in order for it to work on the new platform.
I don't think anyone believes they are being ported.. and if they do it is because they define port entirely different than you do.
I mean, by your definition playing crysis on high settings would be a rebuild of the game on low settings (dx9 vs dx10) would it not?
Just to add a note here, to those that shot down the dx11 cards by saying "there won't be any dx11 games out" My high end 7800gtx gets it's arse whooped in dx9 games by just about any dx10 card even the $30 ones. So perhaps his intention was to play dx10 games with a dx11 card not just exclusively dx11 games...stooopid nerds... geez. And to answer your question w/o any nerd sarcasm "the end of the year" is what amd/ati said.
