Hi, I have an Intel Pentium III EB coppermine 1000mhz running a bus speed of 132mhz. I want to enterchange it with an Intel Pentium 4 3.4 ghz processor. My problem is that I have a socket type 370 FC-PGA and intel pentium 4 claims to have a LGA775 socket. Will it work in my computer?

Sorry, been looking for the converter for you but the socket so old that there not made any more (unless some else can find it). There maybe some on ebay but i haven't looked there.

Today intel sockets are

775 lga (going to be phassed out soon)
1156 lga
1366 lga.

AMD current sockets are:

AM2
AM2+
AM3

So if your want to get a better computer it maybe better to invest a new computer than trying to find a converter kit that not being made anymore. Sorry if couldn't help.

If you look very hard, you might be able to turn up a 1200 or 1300Mhz Pentium III, but it wouldnt be worth what you would have to pay for it. Your far better off picking up a cheep 775 board for the P4 if you already own that, otherwise pick up a low cost Pentium Dual-Core (E2xxx or E5xxx).
