Yes get that, although my understanding is you won't benefit from anything faster than 1066, it worth having.

Well seeing that you dont plan on crossfire, I would suggest you consider this config...
CPU + Graphics card -
X4 955 + HD 4890
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Comb [...] mbo.199014

Mobo- GIGABYTE GA-MA770T-UD3P AM3
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813128392

RAM -

These changes wont affect your budget at all...but would certainly increase the performance...

Thats a nice imput, what about, keep the same combo (940 + video) and get a better ram sticks? maybe 6gb?

That mobo you put there, is good? I mean the 760 chip

Or the combo of the 955+video will give me more performance than a better ram?

So ddr3 is the best ?

@K1ash3r Yes that mobo is an AM3 mobo so it will support only AM3 CPUs and DDR3 RAM...But no crossfire as it has only 1 PCIe slot...

@ciberfog that mobo wont support AM2+ CPUs(X4 940) It supports the following CPUs...
X3 7x0, X4 945, x4 955, X4 810, X2 550...And would obviously support the newer CPUs that AMD might release...

And generally you wont notice much performance increase by increasing the RAM(Above 4GB)
And that X4 955 + Video combo surely would give you better performance than better RAM...
I wouldn't say DDR3 is the best but it is the way to go as newer CPUs will take advantage of the DDR3 speeds and DDR3 would slowly out-phase the DDR2 RAMs...

So if you don't plan crossfire, then that mobo is a very good option to consider as the money saved there can get you a better CPU...

And here are few reviews about that mobo...Go through it and if you feel it has enough to offer, then get that else you can stick with the X4 940 + 790X, even that would be a good alternative...Either ways, get which best suits your needs...
