Hi, I finally have received all the parts I have mentioned in a past thread, and put together my computer.
Here's what I'm working with...
Antec 1200
Antec CP-850W PSU
2 x GTX 275
Gigabyte EX58-UD4P Mobo
Intel i7 920
G.Skill 2 x 3gb Ram
LG IDE dvd-rw/cd-rw drive
Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 7200
Xigmatek Dark Knight.

I'm trying to run Microsoft 7 and I've got it burned to a DVD (Which works fine...loads fine on my laptop). Anyway, the new build I put together posts...and then goes to this black screen which lists PCI devices, and then it says DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER. Now, I've tried loading default BIOS settings, tried clearing the CMOS. I moved the SATA cable from the HD to different ports (Right now it's at 1), and i've checked the IDE cable of the dvd rom drive many times. The DVD rom drive is on MASTER aswell...I really can't figure this out and I'm aching to play some games! Help!

Now I don't even get the DISK BOOT FAILURE anymore....it just hangs at Boot From CD/DVD....grahhhhhhhhh!

try a SATA drive instead of an IDE one.

SATA dvd drive instead of IDE? The HDD is already sata..I do believe the DVD drive is fine as I popped in the cd that came with the mobo to see what would happen and it did start going through the GIGABYTE stuff, but said I needed to have windows installed.

is it one of the older drive's which can't read dual layer discs?

that's the only other explanation I could think of.

This is the DVD drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6827136144

I've been messing with the BIOS all night and haven't gotten any progress...just stuck at "Boot from CD/DVD:"...

So it is recognizing both the optical drive and the HDD, but it's not running the damn OS DVD. I can't figure out whether the problem is the HDD or the DVD drive.
