Hey guys im having a very weird problem with my custom built computer. To turn my computer on i need to flip the switch on the back of the PSU and the hit the power button. If i only flip the PSU switch everything turns on in my case but it seems that the hard drives are the only things that dont turn on also my 4870 x2 shows that its not getting all the necessary power to run. Every thing runs fine only when i turn on the PSU and the power button. When i shut down the computer in windows everything is still on except the hard drives.Any help? Thanks so much!!!
Is a confusing narrative of symptoms. To simplify:
With the switch on the back of the PSU off, nothing should happen when you press the case switch.
With the switch on the back of the PSU on and the case switch on, the only thing on should be any motherboard LED powered by the small "always on" standby power supply.
Then when you press the case power switch, the system should power up completely. If you shut down through Windows or the case switch, everything should go off except the motherboard LED powered by the standby power supply.
Anything else, and you have a problem with the control circuits inside the PSU.

jimishtar its not me its my situation. this is hard to explain. if i leave the switch on the back of the PSU on then most of the components of the computer are running. fans and my water cooling system are all on and running. (thats the problem) to turn on the rest of the components i need to hit the power button on the front of the case.
ps if you guys would like for me to upload a video of this just ask and i will. thanks again. =]
