I am running vista x64 sp2 and have 6.0gb of ram installed. And i just noticed today as i was running CCleaner, that only 4gb is detected.

I think possibly that i have damaged a stick of ram, but the last time that happened the system wouldn't boot. And ram is very durable IMO.

Anyone know why?

Thanks.

EDIT: After searching around on the forums i saw someone with a similar problem.
One of the people said to pull out each stick and boot one at a time. Turns out one didn't boot because a paint chip was blocking it... seems like it would fry it to me.

Anyway, rofl delete the post.

Right Click on My Computer and see how much memory does your system recognize. CCleaner might be reading something wrong.

Easy way to test the memory is too plug in one at a time and boot the system. Also keep in mind if your system requires matched pair, you would need to put either two or three memory cards.

Hope that helps,
