GPU temp

After looking online and through the useless gfx card manual I was given, Im still unsure of what temperatures are safe for a 4890 to be running at under load. As of now this card is running at 55-58 c when it is idle, and after playing a half hour of l4d or another game, it tops at about 68 c. Is my graphics card running at an acceptable temp range, and is it possible for the card to get even hotter and not be considered over heating?
