im not sure if im putting this into words correctly. but when i turn my computer on all i can see is a really faint outline of my desktop, its really hard to see. is has not responsed to adjusting the graphics/colour controls. tried the monintor out on another computer and response was the same. any ideas?

well, is your screen emitting any light, or is it dark and you have to look closely to see the image? this could mean your back lighting is dead

no light emitting and yes i have to look close to c image. if backlightlighting is dead, do i have to buy new monintor or is it easily fixed? will it b expensive?

Call a local tech repair shop. Tell them the situation and ask for an estimate.
