Hello, I am a pretty much a noob when it comes to overclocking RAM. I recently figured out how to overclock my AMD Phenom II X4 945 with FSB tweaking, so I thought that I would give this a try too. I am worried about voltage and timings primarily. I have no problem with trial and error, but when it comes to raising voltages I don't want to take many risks. So I hope there is a guru out there that can give me some advise. I have only one gaming rig right now and I don't want to accidentally burn sh$% up! I have tried to simply overclock them by raising the RAM multiplier in the bios, however they have never responded well to this and run unstable or causes the system not to post at all. I then have to tear out my cross-fire setup to get to the reset pin on the mobo. Not fun. =( Anyone know a concrete or abstract guide that will basically walk through this? Or am I hoping for too much?

My PC specs:

Ok thanx. I think I figured it out with the timing and voltages. Its not all that complicated. I just need to do trial and error, until it works. I guess I am unsure if I can even overclock because I have 8GB. I don't know if its possible because once you add 8GB it automatically down clocks the ram from 1066mhz with 4GB to 800mhz with 8GB. I guess it never hurts to try. I think it could be possible. However it gets complicated because CPU has a locked multiplier. As soon as I change timings and increase voltage I will need to increase the speed with FSB to raise the speed of the RAM. Hope it goes well.
