Your PSU is a bit of overkill. Why spend $1500 and get a cheapo $10 mouse? At least go wireless...

i dont like wireless and i will be adding 3 hard drives of a total of 4 plus 2 hot swap bays plus i will add the 4890 x2 when it comes out and plus i will need a blu-ray drive
maybe more

Pick one thread and stick with it, you dont need 4

You have gotten a variety of opinions in all 3 of those do you really need a 4th? Also there will not be an official 4890x2 it will only be produced by partners so the pricing wont be standardized. Also get the 640GB caviar black its currently the same price for more storage and better speed.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6822136319
And you really dont need all of those hard drives, i dont know why anyone would need that many hard drives let alone a 15 year old.

i deleted them why r thay still there

sorry i will keep this 1

i want the 500gb so i can raid0 4 of them you cant have a os raid0 no more then 2tb
so if i get 1 500gb then later 2 3 4 then i will have more power later less power now see what i mean i will use the ich10r has dvd drive blu-ray drive 4 500gb drives raid 0
then asus raid for 2 1tb green drives then i will have all i will ever need

Reply to psp_man13

i will be getting some money in soon is this is a good build tell me please

Reply to psp_man13

dude learn how to use punctuation. dont they teach you kids anything anymore?

your build is fine, but you dont, and will never need all that storage unless you are generating a lot of data, working with large data sets in some sort of medium (mathematics/3D/etc). and i can tell that you are doing neither. save yourself some dough, and put the money towards something better.

for your case and PSU, check out this combo:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Comb [...] mbo.195790

awesome case+ awesome PSU (850w is FINE for you) and a discount price? cant go wrong.

Reply to mdale13

I would advise against setting up a 4 RAID0 setup.

1st: there is no need for a 2TB RAID0. You will not see that much of a benefit by doing so. You be better off running either a SSD as a your OS drive and having the 640GB as a secondary drive or wait for the WD 2TB Black to come out & run your OS from a 640GB Black.

2nd: Running that many drives in RAID0 will only increase you chance of a disk failure or disk read failure then you lost all of your data.

Reply to mdale13

Dont build a giant golden phallus its just going to corrode and be worthless soon anyway, save your money and buy smart now instead of gold plating everything go with things that will be upgradeable in the future and save your money for it then because $300 now buys you a great graphics card, but $300 next year will buy you a vastly superior graphics card. Dont do quadfire there is no need for it, get 1 4890 for now and then upgrade to the new 5xxx series when it comes out with the money you saved.

a troll is someone (like you) who just makes crap up on forums in order to attract attention to themselves. like this thread. i am very curious to hear where you will be getting $1500 (+ about 1000 extra for all the other items you want to add) at such a young age. i mean its certainly you if you wanna talk about parts. and configuring PC's is a fun way to pass the time, but i dont think many people are taking this thread seriously.

You don't need 4 hard drives to "show off" your computer. People will be more impressed with a more power for less theory. Don't spend your money on "add-on bling" when it adds no real benefit to your system's overall performance. Listen to what hunter315 said and save the extra money to buy something that will make a true impact to your system. $1500 is a lot to spend & save up so spend your money wisely!

hey hey hey, comon now x.x thats not nice D: im 15 too lol, i sold my xbox to get 500 bucks, and my parents are putting in the rest, i dont see whats wrong with that.

But yeah, try not to spam, google is SO awesome, for benchmarks, threads and such, its simply amazing. Im sure if you stick in "4890x2 build" you could find alot of links to many builds.

*To people asking why he has 4 HDD's in RAID 0* Seriously? Is'nt it obvious...what else for obsurd amounts of pr0n?

But yeah...4 HDD's in RAID 0, i dont recommend, if just one drive fails, your screwed, pretty much. Your obvously gonna be playing games (like me) because of the 2 4890's, so you only need 1 HDD, with that many you might even add a lil heat to your system :P

DONT TAKE THE RISK AND USE A STOCK COOLER!!! lol, just buy everything together once you get all the money rounded up

Reply to computernewbie

will the cooler master v8 keep a 3.4ghz overclock cool

Reply to psp_man13

Yes... but if you are to spend that kind on money on a CPU cooler, I would recommend just getting the 'TRUE', which is rated pretty much the best CPU cooler by most.

ok, first off dont ruin your fantastic build with linux.

2nd, the cooler master v10 isnt as good as it makes itself out to be so if you plan to get another cooler (which i recommend) i suggest you get a sunbeam core contact freezer or a zerotherm nv120. other than that you should be set for upgrading. if your not upgrading get a less wattage psu. And pay close attention to everything during building your pc and always remember to keep yourself grounded.

I did my first build at 12 years of age so you should have no trouble building yours. i don't recommend doing any of the fancy things (ex. lapping your cpu, hardcore cable management, case mods) for your first build. Happy Building!

Ok, this turned out to be a wordy reply but do read it, it should help in decision making.

First off, the words WILL mean this won't happen right now. Which means that everything that's good now won't be good whenever you get your fund to build this computer. I know I was looking to built my computer for months and I made SO many changes to what I picked it's ridiculous. If you don't have the money, don't set things in stone. Get a good idea of what you want this computer to do and from there decide.

BIGGEST FACTOR. What will you be doing with the computer? I would suspect you will be gaming.
If that was your first choice, ditch the i7 and go for more graphics horsepower.

I bet you my GTX295 + AMD X3 720 ($765) would beat an i7 + Radeon 4890 ($750). The interesting thing here is that those two combos cost nearly the same (Price including CPU+GPU+Mobo). If you want to game, it's all about GPU! Granted Crysis is an exception with a ton of physics it runs best with an i7. Also, RTS games require more CPU but it's not as big of a deal.

I'll stop you here again, I would not recommend getting that Asus monitor. I'm using the 23.6'' version they offer and i am not impressed. TERRIBLE veiwing angles. Look into Acer.

I also noticed people commenting on getting a better keyboard and mouse. Screw it! I still use PS2 keyboard and a rollerball mouse and they work perfectly. This is where you save money to put it towards something more useful.

Again, people have already said it before. You do not need that much power. A 600w PSU would easily suffice.

Theres always this case and PSU combo as well. Saves you a few more dollars to put to a better GPU. That corsair 750w handles my GTX295 very easily, btw. I can also attest to the Coolermaster HAF. Wonderful case!! Keeps things very cool.

Don't forget about shipping costs! Which also leads me to piont out, look for combo deals and free shipping! They will also help you save where you need to get that little extra to afford something better. I built my first computer with a budget of $1500 and I could play Crysis on Very High settings at 1920x1080. So can you.

Forget what people say, go ahead and put linux on it. I triple boot with Ubuntu 9.04, XP Pro, and Windows 7 RC. OH! If you are installing multiple operating systems, DO NOT FORGET to unplug ALL hard drives not being used for the install before installing an new OS. It will save you quite the headache!!!!

If you really want a good cooler, look into Thermalright. Not thermaltake, Thermalright! I'm using their Ultra 120 Extreme the best cooler, not being a fanboy but google the ultra 120 extreme. Nothing but pure awesome. Don't forget to google! Do lots of research!!
