So I have had my intel i7 960 @ 4GHz with stock cooler 40c idle 75c full load for hours.

and just got the Noctua NH-D14 and was able to set @ 4.2GHz 35c idle 50c full load for hours. I would like to see if I could set to 4.4GHz and still get good temps but I was running into a problem with it would boot just fine and fast but once i logged in it would take FOREVER to load everything. Is that a sign that I need to raise voltages maybe a little?

I have a MSI x58 Pro-E motherboard and it automatically puts the voltages up for me and I cant find out how to take it off auto but it has always worked for me.

When you Overclocked, never ever go over 1.4v for 27/7(For a short time like a day or so is okay but not 27/7)... I got my settings but get those other voltage from my setup like QPI:

BIOS

Ai Overclock Tuner - Manual
CPU Ratio Setting - 23(I got i7-950)
Intel (R) SpeedStep (TM) Tech - Enabled
Intel (R) Turbo Mode Tech - Enabled(Disable if you dont want to get max 25x Enable if you use 25x)
BCLK Frequency - 167
PCIE Fequency - 100
DRAM Frequency - DDR3 - 2009MHz

DRAM CAS# Latency - Auto
DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay - Auto
DRAM RAS# PRE Time - Auto
DRAM RAS# ACT Time - Auto

CPU Voltage 1.275v(For 4.4GHz, you can try 1.35v(you dont want to pass this voltage).. I dont recommend going over or stay on 1.4v 24/7...
CPU PLL Voltage - 1.8(Use this voltage for this setting)
QPI/DRAM Voltage - 1.35(Use this voltage for this setting) (NOTE: Set All 3 auto if don't work!
IOH Voltage - 1.18(Use this voltage for this setting)
IOH PCIE Voltage - Auto
ICH Voltage - Auto
ICH Voltage - Auto

DRAM Bus Voltage - 1.60v(Use this voltage for this setting if you want but it does works)
DRAM DATA REF Voltage on CHA - Auto
DRAM CTRL REF Voltage on CHA - Auto
DRAM DATA REF Voltage on CHB - Auto
DRAM CTRL REF Voltage on CHB - Auto
DRAM DATA REF Voltage on CHC - Auto
DRAM CTRL REF Voltage on CHC - Auto

Load-Line Calibration - Enabled
CPU Differential Amplitude - Auto
CPU Clock Skew - Auto
CPU Spread Spectrum - Disabled
IOH Clock Skew - Auto
PCIE Spread Spectrum - Disabled
