Cd key not valid

I have just carrid out an install repair on a xp with sp3 useing a cd with xp sp3 and used the code from the bottom of my machine and it says it is not a valid key

How do I resolve this issue

any assistance would be helpfull

Use the key that came with the xp sp3 cd. The key on the bottom of the case is likely the original from the system vendor.

That OEM key will only work with the correct OEM CD, i.e. from the manufacturer, not with a normal retail CD.
