I was wondering which would be better: a 2.66 GHZ athlon II vs a core 2 quad q8300 which is 2.5 GHZ

I realize that the intel will perform better, but on newegg the athlon is only $99, dollar for dollar which is better?

Athlon II X4 620 swaps blows with the Q8200, very similar performance for much less money. Dollar for dollar the Athlon II X4 is the best quad in my opinion.
